The principal in the firm, Stormie D. Forte, JD, MS, CRC, graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and in 1998 with a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling and Psychology. In 2002, she graduated from the North Carolina Central University School of Law. Ms. Forte is licensed to practice law by the North Carolina State Bar, the Eastern District of North Carolina for the United States District Court, the Middle District of North Carolina for the United States District Court and the Western District of North Carolina for the United States District Court. Presently, she is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a Certified District Court Mediator, in addition to being licensed attorney. She has also been a member of the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association.

Ms. Forte has nearly six years of experience practicing law. For the past five years, she was an Assistant Attorney General for the North Carolina Department of Justice. In that role, Ms. Forte offered valuable service to the State of North Carolina. She represented the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources, specifically the divisions of Land Resources and Water Quality. She provided a full range of legal services to both divisions. She made court appearances in the Office of Administrative Hearings and in Superior Court. She also represented her clients in numerous informal and court ordered mediations. Ms. Forte also practiced appellate law. She represented her clients for several civil cases before the North Carolina Court of Appeals. Additionally, she represented the State of North Carolina in criminal appeals before the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the North Carolina Supreme Court.

Ms. Forte briefly practiced law in the private sector before joining the Attorney General’s staff. Prior to entering law school, Ms. Forte worked as a Vocational Case Manager for a private rehabilitation company. In that role she assisted individuals with Workers’ Compensation injuries in obtaining employment within their health and work restrictions. Currently, Ms. Forte is available to represent clients in Administrative Law, Civil Litigation, Criminal Litigation, Criminal Appeals, Environmental Litigation, Family Law, Sports and Entertainment Law, Traffic Law, and Worker’s Compensation cases.
